Prof. Rödel has published more than 280 papers, which have been cited more than 10,000 times. Because of his excellent scientific contributions, Prof. Rödel has been appointed as the member of several scientific societies or organizations, including the Member of German National Academy of Science and Engineering, the Associate Editor and Fellow of J. Am. Ceram. Soc., etc. In addition, Prof.Rödel has got several awards, including “Gottfried-Wilhelm Leibniz Prize” prize in 2009. Prof. Rödel is the “distinguished visiting professor” at Tsinghua University and guest professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Six of his former students hold Professor positions in China. He is the past vice-president for research of Technische Universität Darmstadt
