由浙江大学和美国里海大学以及宾州大学联合举办的中美功能玻璃冬令营于2010年1月4-15日在浙江大学举办。浙江大学硅材料国家重点实验室、材料系无机所邱建荣教授主持了冬令营开幕仪式。
美方派遣了功能玻璃领域众多的专家教授，包括多名Zachariasen奖，Otto-Schott奖，Morey奖，Wyle奖获得者以及上届国际玻璃协会主席担任本次冬令营的讲师。另外来自MIT, 宾州大学，亚利桑那大学等15名学生参加。
中方将由国内在玻璃领域有重要影响的中科院上海上海光机所，上海硅酸盐研究所，福建物构所，中国建材研究院，浙江大学等单位的教授作讲座报告，另外还有来自国内各大学和研究机构的25名学生参加。
